Biography Born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, I grew up with a lot of time on my hands for thinking, reading, and making. I attended the University of Oklahoma for 6 years and emerged in 2005 with 199 credits, a BA in Philosophy, minors in Art History and Psychology, and a Summa Cum Laude BFA in Studio Art with emphases in painting and ceramics. I also took supplementary classes in portraiture at Cameron University in Lawton and in ceramics at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman, Oklahoma. My work has been shown at numerous Oklahoma venues in both group and solo exhibitions, where I've received various awards and scholarships, such as the Red Clay Faction Award for Ceramics and the Selma Naifeh scholarship, respectively.
Now residing in New Bedford, Massachusetts, I have since
earned an MFA in sculpture at the University of
Massachusetts, Dartmouth. My written
thesis has been awarded special distinction and I've been nominated for
a Dedalus Foundation scholarship. I have
served as the
sculpture shop technician and been the instructor of
record for three 3-D Concepts courses and one Sculpture Workshop
course. Additionally, I recently had a solo show at Frame 301 at Montserrat
College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, and I've participated in
numerous exhibitions
including the Four Corners Annual Outdoor Show in Tiverton, Rhode
Island. |
